Broden For the last 10ish days he had been vomiting on and off and had a pretty constant headache. We started at the ped, they said he had strep and gave him amoxicillin. 2 days later, no improvement, gave him something stronger. 2 days later still no improvement so I took him to roper ER on Thur. They said no strep, stop antibiotics, they are what’s prolonging vomiting from a virus. And wouldn’t run any additional tests

Friday night, I decided enough was enough, we went to MUSC after hours and they ran every test they could….nothing.

Said if he was not better tomorrow he needed to go downtown. Saturday he woke up his quirky self. No symptoms. Great, hes over it we thought.

Sunday he got sick again. I took him straight down to MUSC. Finally got a doctor who agreed to do a scan. Unfortunately she immediately pulled me into a room and said it was not great news and they had found a brain tumor.

Currently he is in a 2 hour MRI to get a better understanding of what we are dealing with prior to operating tomorrow.

We honestly know nothing until tomorrow when we get the results and then have the procedure. The doctors though have said they feel confident this will go completely smooth.

After that, it’s 4-6 weeks on a biopsy to determine chemo, radiation, or both.

He was given steroids to reduce swelling in his brain and today we got a glimpse of our sweet wild boy again. He also ate more in just this 1 day than he has the last almost 2 weeks.

We are scared, but he is so strong.

At this point we don’t currently need anything other than prayers.

We will update after the procedure and once we know he’s not had any complications.

We will eventually respond to everyone, we are just trying to be present for him.
