Hi everyone. Writing this is incredibly difficult for me, but I’m reaching out because I’m facing a situation I never expected.

Last year my dad passed away in a tragic workplace accident. Since that day, my life has been a mix of grief, legal processes, and doing everything I can to navigate the responsibilities that come with losing a parent so suddenly. Alongside mourning him, I have been involved in ongoing legal battles to fight for justice for what happened to him.

At the same time, I became responsible for managing his estate and caring for the home he left behind. His home means everything to me. It holds years of memories and represents the life he worked so hard to build.

Over the past year I have personally taken on the responsibility of maintaining his home and handling the legal and financial obligations connected to his estate. Property expenses, legal costs, and upkeep have all been coming out of my pocket while the legal process continues.

Recently, during the probate process, I was blindsided by a requirement that a significant amount of money must be paid upfront in order to close the estate and move forward legally. Unfortunately, my dad’s estate does not currently have enough available funds to cover these required fees, which has placed me in a position where I need to come up with the funds quickly in order to complete probate.

In order to complete probate and protect my dad’s home, I need to raise $17,500.

I am currently meeting with lenders and exploring every option available to me. I am doing everything I can to handle this responsibly. But probate laws can sometimes create situations where families must come up with large amounts of money quickly while everything is still tied up legally.

My dad spent his entire life working hard and helping others. He was the kind of man who would show up for anyone who needed him. I’m doing everything in my power to protect what he left behind while continuing to fight for accountability for what happened to him.
