Support Brittney's Recovery from Emergency Surgery

Hi, my name is Nikki, and I’m Brittney’s sister.

Early this morning (April 17th), Brittney had to go to the ER around 3 a.m. due to severe pain caused by gallstones. After initial tests in Dallas, she was transferred to Salem Hospital for an MRI, where doctors determined she needed emergency surgery to remove her gallbladder. 

Unfortunately, they weren’t able to remove all the gallstones during today’s surgery, so she’ll be undergoing a second procedure tomorrow to get the missed gallstones in her bile ducts. 

This situation was completely unexpected, and Brittney will need to take a few weeks off work to recover. Since she just returned from maternity leave in February after welcoming their new baby, she doesn’t have any PTO or FMLA available. Brittney is the main financial provider in their home, so this sudden time off puts a real strain on their family.  unfortunately she works for the tribe and they decided not to opt into it, which they can do because they are on sovereign land so that is not an option for their family either. We are unsure at this time how much time she will be off for. 

We’re asking for help to cover basic needs like gas, groceries, and bills while she heals. Any amount helps, and if you’re unable to donate, please consider sharing this with others.
