On Friday, August 21, 2020 Brittini, Brandon, and Ryker were spending a typical evening at home.
Brittini suddenly collapsed and was unable to get up. Brandon called Jenny Propst as she and Maddison were at Del Junge's home in Seward for the weekend. He called 911 and Jenny and Maddi arrived to find Brittini conscious, slight left side facial droop, able to answer questions somewhat with slurred speech, unable to get up or move her left arm and leg. Aunt Maddi stayed w/Ryker while Brandon rode w/Britt as she was transported via ambulance to Seward Memorial Hospital. Jenny drove herself.
The EMTs stated that it appeared as though she had a stroke. In the ER, Brandon and Jenny inquired if tPA a 'clot buster" could be administered. Also requested she have a CT scan on more than one occasion. The ER Dr did not deem those necessary. This facility does not have MRI capabilities or that would have been inquired about as well. She had a horrible headache. She was treated for migraine and stress related anxiety and monitored for any signs of improvement - overnight. She did not improve. Saturday am a CT was ordered where a blood clot was found in a cerebral artery and she was transported via helicopter to Bryan East Medical Center in Lincoln. She had many tests, a wonderful Neurologist and team, and began some therapies there.
On Wednesday, August 26 she was transferred to Bryan West Inpatient Rehabilitation, Room 303. Brittini was able to see and love on Ryker for a little bit outside before being admitted. She is receiving all therapies in the hopes to regain all that has been lost due to the interruption of blood supply to her brain.
This group is being created to provide updates re: Brittini's condition and progress. We will try to do so as frequently as we are able.
Brittini is a strong, beautiful, young woman as we all know. She is motivated, has a positive attitude, determined to walk and working her very hardest. Her smile may look just a bit different now, but it is there and it lights up a room like it always has! We ask that you keep her in your thoughts and send her well wishes!
