My sister Brittany is the kind of person who can make you laugh mid-chaos, chase two boys like it’s an Olympic sport, and somehow still show up with her signature humor intact—even now.

She was recently diagnosed with multiple myeloma, a form of blood cancer. As part of this, she developed lesions on her spine that caused fractures in her back. Since October, she hasn’t been able to pick up or hold her boys—a huge adjustment for a stay-at-home mom who has always been so hands-on and present in every part of their day.

True to who she is, she’s meeting this moment with grit, grace, and just enough sarcasm to keep everyone on their toes. Her weekly treatments are tough and require time to rest and recover, but she continues to show up and fight.

Her next step is a stem cell transplant at Stanford, which will require her to live near the hospital for about a month with a full-time caregiver, away from home. During this time, her husband Kevin will be splitting his time between caring for Brittany and being there for their two young boys.

As she heads into this next phase, we’re rallying around her the best way we know how—asking for a little extra support to help ease the load during this time. Support will go toward helping care for the boys and covering day-to-day needs so Brittany and Kevin can focus on her treatment and recovery.
