Brittany Berning is my daughter-in-law, and she means the world to our family. At just 34 years old, Brittany is facing a devastating time in her young life. At the beginning of September, she received the heartbreaking news that she has aggressive breast cancer. Her lymph nodes are stage 3 and her breast tumor is stage 4, making her fight even more difficult and urgent.
Brittany is a loving wife to my son, Travis Shuping, and a devoted mother to their two beautiful girls, Skybree (3 years old) and Luna (1 year old). She is also the cherished daughter of Rebecca and Jeffrey Berning, and a caring sister to Kelly Arroyo, Shannon Santillan, and Holly Reid. Our entire family is rallying around Brittany as she begins a grueling treatment plan: six months of chemotherapy, followed by surgery to remove both breasts, then six weeks of daily radiation, and a year later, reconstruction surgery. Recently, we learned that the chemotherapy is putting a strain on her heart, so she must now be monitored even more closely. The emotional and physical toll is immense, and the financial burden is overwhelming. Medical bills, frequent travel for appointments, and the need to support her family during this time have added so much stress to an already difficult situation.
We are reaching out to our friends, family, and community for help. All prayers, love, and support will greatly be appreciated. Any support for Brittany and her family during this devastating time would mean so much. Please consider helping if you can—your kindness and generosity will make a real difference in her fight against cancer.
