Hello, my name is Hosea and on behalf of my friend Brittany I would like to tell her story:
Life changed overnight when my sweet 11-year-old daughter, Nilah, was diagnosed with B-cell Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL). As a single mother also caring for two -year-old twins, I am doing everything I can to stay strong for my children while navigating a reality I never expected.
Nilah is receiving treatment at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee. While St. Jude provides incredible medical care, many daily and family-related expenses are not covered—especially since we are currently living away from our home state so Nilah can receive life-saving treatment.
Everyday tasks have become physically and emotionally overwhelming. When Nilah is weak from chemotherapy, I still must safely transport her while managing two toddlers. Even something as simple as getting all three of my children from place to place is a challenge. A four-passenger children’s wagon would make a tremendous difference in helping me move them safely and with less strain during long hospital days.
Additionally, one of our biggest and most urgent needs right now is reliable car transportation. Nilah must travel back and forth for frequent treatments and appointments in Memphis, and I must bring my twins with me. Unfortunately, transportation for the twins is not covered, and without a dependable vehicle, each trip brings fear of breakdowns, missed appointments, and unsafe conditions for my children.
I am raising funds to help with:
• A safe, reliable vehicle to get my daughter to treatment while traveling with my twins. • Medical co-pays and care needs for myself and the twins because we can’t use our insurance being out of state.
• Travel and living expenses not fully covered while we remain in Memphis.
• Essential items that help me care for all three children during this time such as the four passenger wagon.
This journey has been exhausting, frightening, and humbling—but my children are my strength. Any support, whether through a donation or simply sharing our story, helps ease the burden and allows me to focus on what matters most: my daughter’s fight for her life and keeping my family safe.
