Support Brittany Olund and her family

We're reaching out with news about our awesome friend, Brittany Olund, who's a fantastic mom of two, beloved community member, and downright amazing friend. Recently, Brittany got hit with a curveball when she was diagnosed with stage 3 colon cancer.

Now, if you know Brittany, you know she's the kind of person who's always there for others, oftentimes putting herself last and making sure everyone around her is taken care of.

After the birth of her second son, Beck, in 2022, she experienced troubling GI issues, initially attributing them to post-c-section recovery and later suspecting allergies. Despite clear initial tests, a colonoscopy on November 2 revealed cancer, confirmed by a biopsy on November 7.

Referred to Dr. Bastawrous at Swedish, who Brit cannot speak highly enough about, surgery removed the tumor and lymph nodes successfully. However, traces of cancer in the lymph nodes escalated her diagnosis to stage 3.

Brit began a 6-month chemo regimen on January 12, and is aiming for remission by July 4 - a perfect time to celebrate her freedom from cancer. Despite the challenges at 36, she is grateful for the overwhelming support, exceptional care, and understanding from her employer.

We've set up this GoFundMe to back Brittany up as she tackles this unexpected hurdle. Medical bills, treatments, and all the extras can add up, and we want to make sure she's got the support she needs without worrying about the financial side of things.
