Support Brittany & Little's Healing Journey

One of our very close friends, Brittany, has become a victim of profound domestic violence. Domestic violence that resulted in an attempted homicide via motor vehicle mid-march. After arriving as a trauma patient to the hospital and undergoing initial surgery to stabilize her bilateral lower extremities, she was admitted to await more surgery coming in the near future. Whilst she is recovering well, Brittany has a very long and expensive healing journey ahead of her. She has serious injuries to both legs requiring numerous surgeries and extensive physical therapy. In addition, she will require the use of a wheelchair for several months. She is working tirelessly towards her recovery to get home to her only child, her daughter, River, who is turning 6 in just a couple of months. Thankfully, River was not involved in the accident.

However Brittany's dog Little was in the car with her at that time. Miraculously, she was not injured, but sadly she was already recovering from a broken spine and leg from suspected abuse at the hands of the same person that tried to end her mother’s life. She too has a long recovery journey ahead of her. But we know that they can conquer this battle together with the help of family, friends, and our community.

Money won't erase the pain, emotional/mental trauma, or shorten the long winding road to recovery they are embarking down. However, we know that easing the financial burden of care, accrued expenses, and growing expenses for Brittany and her beloved pets is something small we can contribute towards her recovery. Brit's animals are her beloved family members, most of them requiring advanced care, particular living arrangements due to health complications or previous abusive homes, specialty foods and many other miscellaneous expenses. Brittany rescued each of them with an open heart, eager to provide them a loving furever home. That ability has been maliciously, but temporarily, stolen from her.

None of this accounts for any of the struggles Brittany is facing ahead of her-but we, her friends & family, are grateful for any support from our communities and those wanting to help.
