Support Brittany in Her Fight Against Breast Cancer

Hi everyone,

It is hard to find the right words when someone you love faces something unimaginable. For me, that person has been my best friend since third grade — Brittany Fitzpatrick Kerner. For 26 years, Britt has been my constant, my chosen sister. She is the friend that always shows up, makes you laugh through tears, offers strength and compassion through every struggle — big or small — and never hesitates to put others before herself. Her loyalty is unwavering. Her advice is always blatantly honest and wise. Her humor is truly one of a kind.

This past Christmas Eve, the world stopped for Britt and her family. At just 35 years old, she was diagnosed with breast cancer. One moment she was wrapping presents, the next she was trying to wrap her head around the words no young mother should ever have to hear. Words that could shatter anyone, but not Britt. Her strength is unmatched, her resilience unshakable, fueled by the love of her husband, Tucker, and their three boys—ages 3, 5, and 11.

On February 2, Brittany will undergo a radical double mastectomy at Smilow Cancer Hospital at Yale New Haven, with the possibility of chemotherapy and/or radiation to follow. Her husband, Tucker, who is self-employed, will serve as her primary caretaker during her recovery. During this time, neither of them will be able to work, which could last up to 12 weeks depending on the stage of the tumors determined after surgery. With mounting medical bills, high deductibles, and the cost of everyday living, the financial toll is overwhelming—on top of the immense emotional burden.

Even now, Britt and Tucker are doing everything they can to keep life feeling normal for their boys, while navigating through the challenges that come with a cancer diagnosis. She continues to go into work, still offering that contagious smile, even as the weight of what’s ahead lingers quietly beneath the surface.

Her devotion to her family and friends is constant, she is all heart. Britt has always been the one holding everyone else together. But this time, she needs her village. She needs all of us, her friends, family, and community. She needs this time to help her focus on what truly matters, healing, recovery, and being present for her boys.

Many in the community know her from her nearly two decades in the local service industry at Essex Meadows, The Pattaconk Bar & Grill in Chester, and currently at Noah’s in Essex. She is always the one who always steps up, fills in, and works tirelessly every shift.

Now it is time to give back to her.

Her aunt, Maria Koslowy, and I created this fundraiser to help ease the financial burden so Britt can focus fully on her health and spend precious time with her family. Every contribution, no matter the size, will make a meaningful difference. We understand that many are facing financial challenges of their own, and if donating isn’t feasible at this time, prayers, positive thoughts, and sharing Britt’s story with others are deeply appreciated and incredibly supportive.

As we receive results and learn more about Brittany’s journey, we promise to keep this page updated along the way.

Thank you for showing Brittany and her family the same love, strength, and compassion she has shown so many others. Your support means the world, and right now, it could make all the difference.

With love and gratitude,
