My name is Mia, and Brittany is one of my closest friends. Over the years I’ve watched her fight through some incredibly difficult circumstances with a level of strength and determination that honestly amazes me. Brittany is a single mom raising her daughter Everleigh while working two jobs and attending nursing school. Even while dealing with her own challenges, she has always been someone who shows up for others. She’s an active member of the National Student Nurses Association and recently helped organize a clothing and food drive to support a nonprofit serving battered women and children.

Over the past two years Brittany has been navigating the aftermath of leaving an abusive relationship, including both a criminal case and a prolonged civil divorce process. While the criminal case resulted in sentencing, the civil process has created overwhelming legal and financial strain. Despite everything, Brittany continues to push forward for her daughter and her future as a nurse.

I started this fundraiser because she has been carrying an incredible amount on her own, and right now she isn’t able to sustain that. I believe she deserves support from the community while she finishes school and rebuilds stability for her family.
