Hi, my name is Britnee, I am 22 years old. Asking for help like this doesn’t come naturally to me, but life has a way of humbling you and teaching you when it’s okay to lean on others.
I’ve been working since I was 14 years old and have held a job consistently ever since. I’ve always taken pride in being independent, paying my own bills, and figuring things out on my own. Work has never scared me; relying on others has.
I work as a server, which requires being on my feet and able to move constantly. Recently, I suffered a serious ice-skating accident that resulted in a broken ankle and required surgery. I now have hardware in my ankle and am non-weight-bearing during recovery, which means I’m temporarily unable to work or drive. I’ve been advised that I won’t be able to return to work until May — and while I’m trying to stay positive, hopping around isn’t exactly an option for serving tables.
What felt like a normal day quickly turned into a major life pause.
Recovery has been physically, emotionally, and mentally challenging. Losing the ability to move freely and support myself the way I always have has been one of the hardest parts of this experience.
While I focus on healing, everyday expenses don’t pause. Bills, rent, and basic living costs are still there, and that’s where I need support. This is temporary, but right now it’s heavy.
Even a small contribution helps more than you know. If you’re unable to donate, sharing this means just as much. I’m incredibly grateful for any support (financial, emotional, or simply sending love)…
SUPPORT IS FREE AND I’D GREATLY APPRECIATE IT IF YOU SHARE THIS…
Thank you for helping me get through this chapter so I can stand back on my own again, stronger than before.
With gratitude,
Britnee
