Hi guys. I’m Shana Miles, and I truly appreciate you taking the time to read my story.

We, unfortunately, had a traumatic event happen this morning. An amazing man, husband, and father to 4 lost his life early this morning. There is so much to say I don’t even know where to begin. His mother kicked them out of the house that they were renting months ago. They were living out of a hotel, and he was busting his ass day and night, not only to get by but to save for the future, to get his wife and kids out of the hotel and into a happy home that they deserved.

His wife is such an amazing mother, taking care of four kids ranging from the age of 3-8 while going through all of this and still holding it together.

They lived with me for a few weeks right after getting kicked out, and I can honestly say it was such a pleasure watching their family interact. Watching how well Josh and Brit worked together as parents, and watching how amazing of a father Josh was. I was completely inspired and even jealous of how great they worked together as parents and as a married couple.

Tragedy strikes….

Last night while working late, Josh sent Brit a text saying he didn’t feel good and his heart was hurting. He made it home, took meds to help, and laid down. He then fell out of the bed. His wife rushed to him and found him unresponsive and tried to resuscitate him. When the ambulance arrived, they tried for about 45 minutes to resuscitate him, but never got a pulse. The hospital said it was either a heart attack or a blood clot in his lungs.

All the while this was happening, the children were there witnessing it.

They were finally starting to get on their feet, all while staying positive and keeping it together for their kids.

My request is that anyone that can possibly donate to help her give him a beautiful funeral and hopefully even have a little extra to live off of until she figures out what she’s going to do. For the sake of Brit and her children. They deserve to say goodbye to him in the best way possible.

I watched them work their asses off to get to a better place. They were never lazy and never ever asked for handouts. She called me today and I got permission from her to make a GoFundMe in hopes that she can get as much help as possible.

If you can spare anything, she will appreciate every penny, every dime, every dollar. God has to have something in store for her. There’s no way I could do it. My heart hurts so bad thinking about her and her gorgeous children.

If you can help, please, please help this family! If I had it, I would take care of everything for her because she deserves it.

I really appreciate you guys taking the time to read my story. I know it was long and very, very sad. No one ever expects this to happen. Hold your loved ones close! Hug your babies tighter. You never know when it’s your time. And I just know Josh is looking down on them, wishing with everything that he had that he could be back so that he could help her and be with his babies.

(Disclaimer— I’ve known Josh and Brit for years. We’ve lived together, our kids are friends, and we’ve been close for about 3 years now.

We agreed that I should manage the GoFundMe since I know a lot about it, I’m an influencer on social media so I can reach over 120k people just through posting, and to take it off of her hands so she doesn’t have to spend her time focusing on trying to raise money while she has so much going on. I don’t manage the funds for her, as they are deposited, they go straight from my bank account to her bank account. So see takes care of all of her finances herself.)
