Support Brinley's Journey Abroad

Hi friends, folx, and fellow animal lovers,
After 10 years of dreaming, planning, and working toward this goal, I’m so excited (and a little nervous!) to finally share that I’ll be moving to Dalian, China this July to live and teach music abroad! This has been a long-time dream of mine and I’m beyond grateful for the support and encouragement from friends and chosen family who’ve helped me get here. A new chapter begins—and I can’t wait to see where it leads! While this is a bold, brave leap, and one I’ve been working toward for a decade, there’s one thing I can’t imagine doing it without—my best friend, loyal companion, and furbaby, Brinley.
Brinley is my 7-year-old puggle and my home incarnate. He’s been by my side through every high and low and was with me when I first achieved this dream of moving abroad by accepting a position to work in Shanghai in 2020. But shortly into making preparations, the world was put on pause and I slowly watched my dream slip through my fingers. Brinley maintained the same loving, playful, and jovial energy during this time, and he truly kept my spirit alive as I coped with the loss of having my dream realized and sheltered in place for the next year and a half. With that said, Brinley isn’t just a pet; he’s ride or die family. And for anyone who’s ever loved a dog, you know the bond they share is something unbreakable; along with the emotional rewards, life lessons, and growth they unexpectedly bring into your life.
Unfortunately, bringing a pet — and specifically a “snub-nosed” dog — overseas is no small feat. The process is complicated, costly, and time-sensitive. Between international pet travel fees, partnering with a relocation company, vet certifications, and flights, the expenses add up quickly. I was shocked to learn the cost came to seven thousand dollars. That’s right folx, 7K! At that price, I half-expected Brinley to be flying business class and sitting next to Rin Tin Tin. So anyways, that’s where you come in. (See what I did there?)
I’m raising funds to help bring Brinley to China safely with me so we can continue our journey side by side. Every donation, no matter how small, brings us one step closer to this next chapter—together. If you’re a dog lover, a music lover, or just someone who believes in the power of chasing your dreams with your best friend at your side, then I hope you’ll consider supporting this cause. Please help keep this dogmom and her beloved boy together —because no dream is complete without the ones who make it feel like home.
Please consider donating and sharing with friends!
