Support Brij and his family fight cancer!
Donation protected
Less than a month ago, Brij seemed like any typical eight-year-old, thinking about Minecraft and baseball. What seemed like innocent abdominal pain became every parent's nightmare just after New Year's. Brij was scheduled for a colonoscopy to find out the source of his symptoms, and a colon mass was found.
After extensive testing, Brij was diagnosed with Stage IV signet cell carcinoma of the colon. This is a rare and aggressive cancer, VERY rarely seen in kids. He was airlifted to Boston Children's Hospital where he is currently undergoing further testing and treatment.
His mom, Kunoor, usually works as a surgeon at Duke, and his dad, Austin, works as a firefighter. Neither has returned to work since Brij's diagnosis to be at his side. While both Duke surgery and the firehouse have been highly supportive, neither parent can work and will not be able to for quite some time.
Brij emanates joy to everyone who meets him, and his incredible smile lifts the spirits of anyone lucky enough to be with him. Brij's laugh is infectious, and his passion for everything is inspiring. His classmates recently even wrote him a song called "Brij the Kind and Mighty" that could not better describe his impact on those around him.
He and his family need our help! They are genuinely some of the kindest and most generous people you will ever meet, who would step up to help those around them...every single day. Living away from home is expensive. Funds raised will assist in covering medical expenses and treatment, the cost of lodging, transportation, and basic needs. Their inability to work during this challenging and unknown length of time will take its toll.
Please help in any way that you can. Let's rally around Brij and his family to support them. Your generosity is sincerely appreciated.
Thank you so very much!
