My name is Brihana Jua, and I am a 25-year-old musician, writer, model, and domestic violence advocate.
For most of my life, music has been the way I survived. Now I’m trying to build a life where I can truly live, create, and serve my community through art and advocacy.
Due to rising housing costs and losing my job because of recent budget cuts, I’m navigating a difficult transition. I made the decision to pursue my creative and community work full-time — something that has been deeply rewarding, but also financially challenging.
So I’m asking for help.
This campaign is about mutual aid, sustainability, and investing in a future where art, healing, and community can thrive together.
My Story
I started singing before I even understood what it meant to have a voice.
By the age of 14, I began pursuing music professionally, not fully knowing why I had been given such a big voice — but trusting that it meant something. Since then my journey has taken me from Tampa to Atlanta to Seattle, where I’ve grown not only as an artist, but as a storyteller and community builder.
Over the years I’ve performed across the country and built a body of work rooted in vulnerability, truth, and healing.
Some highlights from my journey include:
• Singing the National Anthem at Lumen Field for Megan Rapinoe’s retirement game
• Opening for artists like Charlotte Day Wilson, Macklemore, and Sir Mix-A-Lot
• Performing dozens of Sofar Sounds shows across Seattle, San Francisco, and Portland
• Being featured on KEXP, KOMO News, and Evening News
• Writing and publishing work with ARTE NOIR
• Modeling for brands including Nike, Microsoft, Pokémon, and Lafayette 148
But beyond performance, my work is rooted in community and healing.
I am a domestic violence survivor, and that experience shaped my life and my mission. For years I struggled in silence, and now I speak loudly for those who never had the chance to use their voice.
Because of that, I’ve dedicated my life to building safer creative spaces.
I am the co-founder of For The Girls Creative Collective and a collaborator on the Rise Up Against Domestic Violence cultural movement, where we create events, programs, and workshops that support artists while addressing real issues impacting our communities.
Through programs like Rise In Resonance, I also help provide trauma-informed resources and creative tools for educators and students.
This work is not just my passion — it is my calling.
Why I’m Asking For Support
To be transparent: I’m tired of surviving.
Like many artists and advocates, I’ve spent time pouring into my community while navigating unstable income, housing insecurity, and burnout.
Right now I’m asking for support so that I can:
• Stabilize my living situation
• Continue building programs that support artists and youth
• Record and release my first full album
• Sustain the Rise Up Against Domestic Violence movement
• Tour and share my music with wider audiences
I believe deeply that art can heal people and shift culture — but artists need support to keep doing the work.
