Support Brigitte’s Gender-Affirming Surgery!

Hey y’all! AJ here! My sweet friend Brigitte is preparing for her long-awaited body feminization surgery and needs your support! Based in Tijuana, Mexico, Brigitte Baltazar Lujano is a badass trans woman migrant who fights for LGBTQI+ and migrant rights at the Mexico-US border on national and transnational levels. Brigitte works tirelessly to support thousands of community members who face racist, transphobic, and homophobic individual and state violence daily. She currently volunteers as a Program Coordinator for La Casita de Union Trans and works as the LGBTQI+ Program Coordinator of the binational organization Al Otro Lado (AOL). Brigitte pours so much of her heart and energy into her LGBTQI+ and migrant communities by leading initiatives such as:

Brigitte does all this and so much more - and in Mexico! - a country that is reported as the world’s 2nd most dangerous country for trans women. It's now Brigitte's time to receive the love and support she gives to community! This gender affirming surgery is such an important step in her gender affirmation journey to feel more at ease in her own body and walking down the street as she continues fighting for LGBTQI+ and migrant justice.

We are raising $16,500 for her surgery! Here is the cost breakdown:

And yes, although her surgery will be in Mexico, it will still be expensive AF! There’s no insurance in Mexico that covers gender affirming surgeries, so everything will be out of pocket. Please support by donating and/or sharing her fundraiser! <3 Thank youuu!!!

Viviendo en Tijuana, México, Brigitte Baltazar Lujano es una chingona mujer trans migrante que lucha por los derechos LGBTQI+ y de los migrantes en la frontera México-EEUU, a niveles nacional y transnacional. Brigitte trabaja incansablemente para apoyar a miles de miembros de la comunidad que sufren violencia racista, transfobica y homofóbica por individuos y el estado a diario. Actualmente es voluntaria como Coordinadora de Programas para La Casita de Unión Trans y trabaja como Coordinadora del Programa LGBTQI+ de la organización binacional Al Otro Lado (AOL).
