Support Brigitta Bors Heal & Hear Her Laugh Again
Spende geschützt
This is our momma bear, Brigitta Bors. She has been a part of all of our lives, big or small. May it be as a neighbor from childhood in Hungary or the last 30 years in Edgewater. Taking care of you at the cash register or cracking jokes and teasing friends in the break room at Trader Joe's. Chaperoning one of our school trips, taking care of you as an aid in elementary school, or your child at the daycare center. Her hardwork, strength, smile, and laugh are known by all as the countless messages and regards you've already sent to her examplify.
On February 9th, 2025 our mom suffered from multiple strokes. We got her to the hospital immediately and over the course of the last few days, we have found out that besides the strokes, she has pneumonia and multiple infections and growths inside her big beautiful heart. She'll be in the hospital for a month and half, undergoing more tests, treatments, and potential surgery for her heart and then weeks or months of physical, occupational, and speech therapy to regain the function of her right arm and speech so that she can be her teasing silly extremely independent self that we all know and love.
Because of this, she won't be able to work, though she has already asked us if she could go back now, and because of the government's incompetency to properly support and care for it's people, she no longer has insurance. My sister and I are trying to balance being with her every minute of the healing process while each working two jobs and her being present for my nephew. We've been blessed with an extremely supportive family and community and have already seen generosity we will never be able to show our gratitude for enough.
We know times are trying and that everyone has their own struggles; nevertheless, though none of us have ever been very good at it, we are asking for help. Any bit of it, may it be a couple dollars, words of encouragement to keep her spirits high, or to include her in your prayers.
We just want to be able to walk into her home and see her smile, watch her work on the displays at work, and watch her play with and hear her tell her grandson and nieces "I love you" again and never take any of these moments for granted again.
