My name is Joy Lynch, founder of Colors Consulting Group and creator of The Joy of Numbers.
This campaign is being organized in partnership with The Friends of St. James Primary School, a dedicated group of past pupils, parents, and community supporters committed to helping the school and its students thrive.
Together, we’re raising funds to bring financial literacy resources, books, and more directly to the kids of St. James Primary School in Trents, St. James, Barbados.
St. James Primary’s motto is:
“Onward and Upward, Strive For The Best.”
Our goal is to support that motto by giving students more tools to build confidence with numbers, money, and everyday decisions.
Why This Matters
St. James Primary is full of bright, curious children, but like many schools, it faces limits on its budget for new books and learning materials.
At the same time, kids are growing up in a world where:
- Prices are rising at the supermarket
- Families are making tough money choices
- Technology and money are more connected than ever
We want students at St. James Primary to:
- Feel comfortable with numbers
- Understand basic money concepts
- Learn how to make smart financial choices as they grow
That’s the heart of The Joy of Numbers —and it’s what this fundraiser will bring to their classrooms and library.
How Your Support Will Be Used
All funds from this campaign will be used for the benefit of St. James Primary School students, in collaboration with The Friends of St. James Primary School and the school administration.
Depending on how much we raise, we plan to provide:
- Financial Literacy Book Sets
- Joy of Numbers math and money worksheets
- Storybooks and Activity Packs, Worksheets & Take-Home Resources
- Other age-appropriate math and money books for classroom and library use
- Printable activities and games teachers can reuse
- Take-home packs so parents and families can learn with their children
- General Educational Support & “More”
As funds allow, we’ll also help with:
- Basic classroom and library supplies that support reading and math
- Printing, laminating, and materials so resources last longer
All resource choices and priorities will be coordinated with The Friends of St. James Primary School and the school’s leadership to meet the most urgent needs.
Giving Levels (You Can Still Give Any Amount)
You can give any amount, but here are some examples of impact:
- $25 – Book Buddy - Helps provide 1–2 financial literacy books for the school library.
- $50 – Student Sponsor - Helps fund a small bundle: a Kids Financial Dictionary + worksheets for a group of students.
- $100 – Classroom Friend - Helps sponsor a classroom set of worksheets and activities plus a few reference books.
- $250 – Library Builder - Helps create a mini financial literacy section in the school library and shared spaces.
- $500+ – School Sponsor - Helps ship and supply a larger set of Joy of Numbers / FinLit resources, plus additional educational tools for the school.
Every contribution—large or small—brings us closer to putting The Joy of Numbers & other resources into the hands of these students.
How Funds Will Be Managed
Funds from this campaign will be received by Colors Consulting Group / The Joy of Numbers and used solely for resources and support for St. James Primary School, in coordination with The Friends of St. James Primary School, and the school’s administration.
We’re committed to transparency.
We will:
- Share updates on what was purchased
- Provide photos and stories (with the school’s permission)
- Report on how the resources were used at St. James Primary
Important Note (Transparency & Tax)
This fundraiser is a collaboration between The Joy of Numbers (a project of Colors Consulting Group) and The Friends of St. James Primary School.
Contributions will be used to support educational resources and programs for St. James Primary School, but they are not being treated as tax-deductible charitable donations through this campaign.
We want to stay fully honest and clear while inviting you to support this beautiful school and its students.
