Versace needs your help. This sweet little stray is now a mommy of 5. Her kittens were born approximately 7/25/25. We brought all 6 of them into our home to care for and foster on 7/27 due to the extreme heat. They were doing great, but then Versace got sick on 7/29. She vomited all that day and hasn’t eaten anything since then. I took her to UrgentVet that evening to treat her symptoms. Then I took her to a vet’s office on 7/30/25 to do more diagnostic testing. A “mass” palpated in her abdomen was a large amount of stool stuck in her colon. She was dehydrated, had a fever, and some abnormal bloodwork. She was given subcutaneous fluids, antibiotics, and an enema to help her poop. Once we get her feeling better, we can do even more testing to make sure she’s healthy, and once she’s able to, we’ll get her spayed. Naturally, all these costs are adding up fast.
Versace’s story… Versace, the stray kitty, came into our lives several months ago. She was spending a lot of time in our front and backyard. In the beginning, she was very dirty and skinny. I felt sorry for her and wanted to help. I started putting food and water outside every day, which she obviously appreciated. After I started feeding her regularly, her coat was clean and she looked healthy. She has continued to be shy, but not aggressive at all. I’ve been really trying to gain her trust. We have a storm drain in front of our house that she goes into when it is hot or she gets scared. After I had not seen her for a few days, I looked into the storm drain only to find her with five kittens. Temperatures were in the upper 90s and it was expected to get up to at least 100 in the days to come, so I knew I had to get them out of there. I also knew that the kittens would be in grave danger if it rained. With the help of my husband and daughter, I managed to go into the storm drain and get them out. We set up a room so that we can foster them until they can find loving homes. Things were going great until Versace got sick. Unfortunately, since I am not with a foster group, all the veterinarian bills are coming out of my pocket, and they are adding up quickly, so that’s why I need the help of anyone that can. I want to do right by this sweet little family I’ve taken in. Thank you for reading Versace's story. ❤️
