4-year-old Brielle was tragically involved in a serious lawnmower accident that resulted in the loss of her foot. Her family has suddenly been faced with something no parent ever imagines having to walk through: watching their little girl endure a devastating injury, multiple surgeries, ongoing recovery, rehabilitation, and the difficult road ahead of a life that will never be the same.

Our family is asking for help for our very special little girl.

Brielle is energetic, caring, and full of imagination. Like most girls her age, her world is made up of adventures, play, and the people she loves most.

On Friday, August 21, our little girl’s world changed in an instant. And so did the world of her parents, siblings, and others who are close to her.

After being life flighted to the hospital, Brielle was rushed to the operating room where sadly her foot had to be amputated. She has undergone several follow-up surgeries to clean the wound and assess the damage to determine if further amputations are needed, and what courses of action need to be taken.

Brielle is currently undergoing a major reconstructive surgery, the outcome of which will determine if the rest of her leg can be spared.

For Brielle’s parents, the challenge isn’t only helping their little girl heal physically. They are learning how to navigate an entirely new reality while trying to be there for their daughter, care for their other children, make difficult medical decisions, and manage the financial burden that comes with an extended medical crisis. This has been an incredibly difficult time, both physically and emotionally, and the road ahead will be long.

And all the while, Brielle and her family are out-of-state and far away from home, not likely to be able to return for quite some time.

There will be significant ongoing medical expenses, travel and other costs related to her care, ongoing rehabilitation, and time away from normal work and family life.
