Support Bridget's Fight to Stay Afloat

Hello to whoever is reading this! If you don’t know me, my name is Bridget. I am sad to announce that I desperately need help. I started a new job in March, and worked my butt off to learn the ins and outs of an entirely new industry and received constant praise from my supervisor and the management team as a result, which can be observed by the letter of recommendation I received from them. I got the job recommendation from a recruiter I’ve worked with the past 3+ years. Sadly, she was not aware that the company I had just started working for was recently declared insolvent and sold the business to a parent company. Someone from the parent company created a new budget and cut the necessity of my role, effectively ending my employment that very same day (5/6/2025).

Since early May, I have diligently sought other work to maintain an income. I actually had an interview towards the end of May which I confidently felt went spectacularly, but I was devastatingly not offered a position. I’ve gone different routes to attempt to keep my bills current including my financed vehicle and rental home, amongst all other utility bills that come with each (as well as insurance). This includes my painstaking attempts to receive unemployment benefits from the state - which I still have not seen despite an online application, registration to other sites, many phone calls (many of which hung up on me), and proof of my consistent submitted job applications.

I am doing all that I can to stay afloat and I fear it’s not enough with rent being due so soon. If I can’t come up with something soon, I will face late fee penalties, eviction, forfeiture of my security deposit (+$2k), repossession of my vehicle, amongst other things. It’s been difficult to keep my head up through this difficult time, yet I still wake up every day and try my best to get out of this mess.
