Support Bridget’s Fight Against Cancer

Community - we have an important and pressing ask for you all. One that is heavy on our hearts and difficult to approach, but one I hope you will all be able to open yourselves up to and rally together to show up for:

Our dear friend and loved one, Bridget, was admitted to the ICU while on vacation on her 30th birthday (May 16th, 2023) due to health concerns. Within a few days, she was in surgery to remove tumors that were found in her ovaries. Unfortunately, the surgeons had to perform an emergency full hysterectomy after finding that the tumors spread. Bridget has been diagnosed with stage 3B Mucinous Ovarian Cancer. Thankfully she is well on her way to recovery from the surgery itself, but is now being faced with the reality of having to undergo chemotherapy in the coming months. (More details in update below)

Here is where you come in: We are hoping to raise enough funds to take some of the burden off of Bridget and her loved ones and create more of a sense of ease as we approach another inevitably challenging chapter of this process. These funds will go to things like rent, food, transportation and the like as she will be unable to work for the foreseeable future. If you have ever been touched by Bridget’s contagious joy and relentless silliness, had the privilege of sharing space with her, learned from her as Miss Bee, been through performance season with her, seen her perform, had loved ones who have gone through similar things and can commiserate, or simply want to help - I implore you to send what you can to contribute to our overall goal. Anything helps, and we want to remind Bridget how absolutely supported and adored she is by our community. It’s our turn to show up for someone who has consistently been a reliable force and been there for so many of us.

On a more personal note: I (Asa) have been friends with Bridget for 10 years and we have truly been through some of the most intense experiences together in that time. She has relentlessly loved, supported, and provided for me in my hardest moments and celebrated with me in my joy. She is my stage mom, my cheerleader, my #1 fan. I truly believe that I wouldn’t be where I am today if it weren’t for her love and presence in my life. The growth we have achieved in our friendship and individually through knowing each other is beyond compare. Bridget is without a doubt one of the most special people I will ever meet and to say I am proud to know and love her is a vast understatement. I know for a fact I am not alone in this and as painful as this whole experience is, I do look forward to seeing her loved ones show up and utilize this opportunity to shower Bridget in love like the absolute royalty she is.
