Hello my name is Bridget Williams born and raised in the Metro DC area and Virginia, currently living in the Western Carolina Mountains (Waynesville) and I'm a mother of 4 (3 males 28,25,23) and 1 female (16) and a grandmother of 2 ( boy age 4 and a girl age 2). I am a travel CNA, and a cosmetologist, and I also take care of my mother fulltime.

On Saturday evening March 7, 2026 tragedy struck, my whole house went up in flames. I lost everything that I owned. Renters insurance wasn't kicking in until the 13th. So no insurance coverage.

On the bright side,

I'm just so forever grateful that my kids got out in time.

My middle son Zamir( 25) had to save everyone that was in the house, his baby brother Yisiah (23) and our two dogs Kilo(8) and Chubbs(3). I was currently working and baby girl was with her grandmother at the time.

Yisiahs room wall, where his bed is located (connected to the kitchen) was engulfed in flames. Zamir had run out the side door with with one dog, Chubbs, then Run back thru the front to grab his baby brother Yisiah. They both started trying to locate Kilo but couldn't find him thru all the smoke and flames..They finally found him and all got out in the knick of time.

Everything was lost. But Thank GOD all of my kids were spared.

We lost everything

My daughter is homeschooled (11th grade) so her whole school (tests scores, all in one desktop, printer) and set up ( desk, books, supplies) is gone. My sons are gamers and their whole gaming systems (ps5, Xbox one series) and chairs and equipment ( desktop, keyboard, mics, headsets) is gone. Zamir is a stock trader as well so his whole business set up and computer is gone.

I also do hair, so my whole salon setup is gone. All of my supplies (hair, dye, shampoo, conditioner ,etc) and equipment (chairs, curlers,dryers,shampoo bowl) . Just gone.

Lost all of my scrubs (Xs,S) and sneakers (7/8) and everything( work cups, bags, thermometer,etc)

I am only asking for some help to survive and keep afloat while , We are having to replace everything, down to a pair of socks and a toothbrush.

I have to find new housing (which is higher than normal now) and have the money for deposits ( First, last, security) and all new furniture and so forth. Just need some rebuilding/starter help.

Just Taking one step at a time.
