Bring Bridget Shevlin Hope: Support MS Stem Cell Transplant!
Donation protected
Hello!
My name is Bridget Shevlin, and I appreciate you taking a moment to consider helping me on my journey to halt my Primary Progressive Multiple Sclerosis (PPMS) progression.
I was diagnosed with this neurological disease in 2020, and my body has been in a rapid decline since.
PPMS is a challenging form of MS characterized by a gradual worsening of symptoms without distinct relapses. Traditional treatments for PPMS are limited, so many patients look for alternative or complementary approaches.
I plan to go to Monterrey, Mexico, in March 2025 to receive hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (HSCT). This treatment is not available in the United States nor covered by insurance. It is also costly. The facility in Monterrey is known for its experience in treating MS with HSCT. Many patients have reported positive outcomes, including stabilization or improvement in their MS symptoms. All donations will go directly toward the cost of the HSCT medical treatments.
I would greatly appreciate any contribution to my treatment. Sharing this information with friends and family would be equally generous if you can't monetarily contribute.
More about the treatment:
HSCT is a complex procedure with potential risks, including infections, organ damage, and other complications related to chemotherapy. But to me, the rewards outweigh the risks.
Hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (HSCT) is an advanced treatment for multiple sclerosis (MS) that aims to reset the immune system to prevent it from attacking the nervous system. In Mexico, several medical centers offer HSCT for MS, and it has gained attention for its potential benefits, particularly for people with aggressive forms of MS.
HSCT has shown promise in clinical trials and real-world settings, particularly for patients with aggressive forms of MS who have not responded well to conventional treatments.
HSCT involves collecting stem cells from the patient’s blood and then using chemotherapy to eliminate the existing immune system before re-infusing the stem cells. The goal is to allow the immune system to regenerate without the autoimmunity that causes MS.
