My Journey to Taiwan: A Cultural and Educational Adventure
About Me
Hello! My name is Bridget Dooley, and I am thrilled to share an exciting opportunity that has come my way. As a sophomore at the Global Studies & World Language Academy, I've chosen Mandarin Chinese as my focus language. This decision was driven by my fascination with its complex writing system and tonal nature, as well as my aspiration to teach both English and Mandarin to students in the future. Mandarin is the second most spoken language worldwide, with approximately 1.1 billion speakers.
The Opportunity of a Lifetime
I have been given a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to visit Taiwan from June 8th to July 5th through a program partnered with my school, CIEE. During this time, I will stay with a host family, allowing me to be immersed in the Mandarin language 24/7. This experience will enable me to absorb the Taiwanese culture in its most authentic form and even earn college credits.
How You Can Help
I am already halfway to my fundraising goal, but I need your help to make this dream a reality. Any contribution, no matter the size, will directly support my cultural and educational journey in Taiwan. Your support, whether through donation or sharing my story with others, is greatly appreciated.
Thank you for taking the time to read about my journey and for considering supporting my adventure. Your generosity will help me make the most of this incredible opportunity.
