Support Bridge Community Café

We are Bridge Community Café and we are fundraising for our business and community space. Downtown Ypsi has been without a coffee shop for nearly two years due to the pandemic, but we're bringing it back with new life! After months of preparation, we are finally able to announce the opening of Bridge. It was a long road to get here and the journey only continues, which is why we are here asking for help.

What Makes Our Dream Unique

We want to see this place thrive not only as a business, but as a place for individuals like yourself to come hold space for each other, skill-share, create, learn, and of course enjoy delicious drinks & nourishing food. We hope to form a foundation that supports the bridges we build within this community as well as the greater global community in a way that promotes intersectionality and broadens our network of mutual aid and solidarity. Our mission is to build these bridges through the accessible and equitable exchange of resources. We aim to be more than just another coffee shop, we aspire to create a safe space for the community by providing coffee, comfort, and collaboration.

Our Goals

As a business we want to uplift and collaborate with indigenous coffee collectives and producers. We want to provide a kid-friendly space for gathering, creating, organizing and connecting. In order to see our goals come to fruition we need funding. Although we may be ready to open, our budget is still stretched tight and we are making do with the equipment we have in whatever condition it came to us. We'd love to be able to provide more to the community by means of food and resources but need the support. We want to offer accessible prices and a pay-it-forward system to be able to provide something for everyone. What do we mean when we say, "pay-it-forward?" Customers will have the option to buy-one give-one when purchasing coffee so that someone else in our community can enjoy a beverage as well. We would also like to provide soups on a weekly basis on a sliding scale/pay what you can price. This way members of our community with lesser means are never turned away for lack of funds. By the summer we would also like to support youth programs providing kids with a safe place to go and nurture their interests/passions.

Your Support

Every donation counts and just knowing we have your support pushes us closer to the dream. We do have a lot of looming payments and our budget is stretched thin. Donations to this GoFundMe will go towards our basic costs of operation, rent, utilities etc.. as well as the programs we hope to start with help from our friends and neighbors. We would love to regularly host and organize events to give back to the community and your help would make this possible.
