Brian, my fiancé, has always been a hard worker and a dedicated provider. He spent 15 years serving as a veteran and worked with powerlines, never expecting that a single tick bite would change our lives so dramatically. In February 2024, Brian was bitten by a tick on the job, which led to Lyme disease. The process of getting workers comp was slow and stressful, and by the time support finally arrived, we were already falling behind on bills and struggling to keep up with everyday expenses.
After months of fighting to get better, Brian was diagnosed with post-treatment Lyme disease syndrome. He tried to return to work in September, but after just a few weeks, he suffered a severe flare-up. This led to a new diagnosis: Rupus, a combination of lupus and rheumatoid arthritis, at the start of 2025. The medical bills, medication costs, and doctor visits have piled up, and we even lost our vehicle because we couldn’t keep up with payments while waiting for workers comp.
We are now facing a mountain of medical and living expenses, and it’s been overwhelming to see how quickly everything can change when your health and livelihood are affected. I am so grateful for any help or support—whether it’s a donation or just keeping us in your prayers. Your kindness can help us get through this incredibly tough time and start to rebuild our lives.
