Thank you for taking your time to read my post. My name is Brian, I am a 62 year old truck driver, father, and grandfather. I have worked blue collar work since I was 15 years old, sometimes two and three jobs to make ends meat. Writing this is against my nature, as I always enjoy standing on my own two feet and always have. However, I find that I have limited options with my current medical circumstances.
Eight months ago I began having symptoms that i ignored and continued on full time work. My employer, without notice, decided that I had to take a leave of absence, without pay (left me stranded and had to find my own way home from north Texas). Thankfully though, this forced me to take medical action (which took quite some time), I have been diagnosed with Parkinson’s Disease. The disease is debilitating but, working with my neurologist and family doctor I have been prescribed several medications. My prognosis is fair with the medications for now but Parkinson disease is a progressive disease and will require ongoing dr care and more medications. However, through this time of expensive testing and working with multiple doctors, I’ve been without employment for multiple months. I have sold what i can to make it through, but it has not been enough. I need to ask for your help to make my basic needs, medical bills, utilities, insurance, etc. My doctor recommended that I file for disability. I have filed for disability, but have been told it could take months or even years to receive disabilty. My plan was to work a full time job till I was 67 and have everything paid for and retire. Looks like my plans have changed and I will move forward and fight the good fight. I want you to know I appreciate anything you send my way, whether that be monetary, advice, prayers or even your well wishes. We will make it through this, god bless.
