Hi, I'm a friend of Brian Wickersham who lives in Portland, Oregon. Recently - as many of you know - Brian was diagnosed with not 1 but 2 cancers. One of the cancers is very aggressive and requires an equally aggressive chemo regime, which means he cannot work. Brian was diagnosed after only 9 months in his new job - working as a social worker doing intake for individuals and families in need. Due to his short tenure, he is not eligible for much in terms of family leave.
