My name is Idalia Alanis and my 15-year-old daughter, Brianne Karina Valdez, was diagnosed with rhabdomyosarcoma cancer (ARMS), a rare and aggressive blue cell cancer. Our world turned upside down from one day to another. One day she was playing her last soccer game of the season, and the following day, on March 11, her left leg got swollen, and we found out she had a DVT (blood clot). From there, it was in and out of the hospital, scan after scan, until we finally found what was causing her leg to be swollen and her back pain.

Yesterday, April 3, she started her fight against it and began her chemotherapy at Driscoll Children's Hospital RGV. It is a parent's worst nightmare to find out your child has cancer, but she has given us the strength to fight and fight hard with her. She is a daughter of God, a warrior, and she stands strong in faith. We ask for everyone to have her in their prayers and help us continue with this battle.

De la noche a la mañana, nuestro mundo se puso patas arriba. Un día, estaba jugando su último partido de fútbol de la temporada, y al día siguiente, el 11 de marzo, se le hinchó la pierna izquierda y descubrimos que tenía una trombosis venosa profunda (TVP). A partir de ahí, entramos y salimos del hospital, le hicimos una ecografía tras otra, hasta que finalmente encontramos la causa de la inflamación de su pierna y el dolor de espalda.

Ayer, 3 de abril, comenzó su lucha contra el cáncer y su quimioterapia en el Hospital Infantil Driscoll RGV. Descubrir que su hija tiene cáncer es la peor pesadilla para cualquier padre, pero ella nos ha dado la fuerza para luchar con ella y luchar con ahínco. Es hija de Dios, una guerrera, y se mantiene firme en la fe. Pedimos a todos que la tengan en sus oraciones y nos ayuden a continuar con esta batalla.
