Hello, my name is Stephanie, and I am organizing this fundraiser on behalf of my sister Brianne Vecchio

First, I’d love to tell you a bit about Brianne who is 35 years old and a life-long resident of upstate New York and Daughter of Mark Vecchio. Brianne is the mother of 2 daughters: Kennadee & Autumn and Partner to her Fiancé: Mark, who as you would guess are the most important parts of everyday life for Brianne. She’s the favorite Daughter, Sister, Aunt, and friend to so many of us (or so she says ) and she could use our support.

Second, let’s talk about Cancer; the thing that has brought us here. Brianne was born with Peutz-Jeghers Syndrome (PJS), a rare disorder in which polyps form in the digestive system. A person with PJS has a high risk of developing certain cancers. On April 3rd of this year after triple biopsies on the left breast, Brianne found out she has Invasive Ductal Carcinoma or Breast Cancer that has begun to spread to her lymph nodes. This of course is earth shattering and we are only in the beginning. Brianne will have a bilateral Mastectomy with reconstruction, followed by Chemotherapy and Radiation Therapy.

Finally, Brianne is a social worker who plans to work & continue her graduate program for as long & as much as she can. However, there is a chance that she may not be able to do so, and the money raised by this will go directly to the costs of co-payments, aspects of the fight that Insurance cannot or will not cover, transportation costs etc. Truly, one of the hopes in starting this fundraiser is to help prevent debt that will hinder future adventures, accomplishments and memories Brianne and her loved ones will create once this fight is over.
