Help Briana Hansen’s Fight Against Stage 4 Cancer

Donation protected
In October of 2022 my beautiful sister Briana Hansen found a new lump in her breast next to a small lump that she had had for years, that doctors had told her not to worry about because she was young and healthy. After a mammogram, ultrasound and biopsy she was diagnosed with stage three invasive ductal carcinoma at the age of 35.

She was scheduled for her first round of chemo in December 2022. Her body has always been sensitive to medications which lead to a life threatening reaction to the very aggressive chemo. This forced the path of a more integrative healing approach as well as removing the cancer from her breast and lymph nodes. She chose to remove both breasts in a double mastectomy because she was determined to reduce the risk of recurrence.

Her original tests showed one cancerous lymph node and 3-4 possibly involved. During her surgery, they removed 19 lymph nodes, 16 of which were cancerous. The surgery was successful. She had clear margins and at this point, she was N.E.D (no evidence of disease).

After surgery Briana did everything that she financially and physically could do to build her body and mind to be healthy again. Months later she found herself at the hospital with an infection. This lead to another emergency surgery.

After more months of healing and trying to support her body, she was able to undergo reconstructive surgery in July 2024. She had tests done indicating healthy bloodwork with no cancer markers. But she ended up getting another infection and her immune system was struggling. After this she suffered from a full body medication reaction to antibiotics, multiple viruses and all of her hair started to fall out. Because of this and all the stress on her body, Briana's health began to rapidly decline. This lead to her getting another PET scan, and on October 11th we received the devastating results.

Our worst nightmare has come true and she now has stage 4 metastatic cancer. The cancer is riddled through her pelvis, spine/skeleton, lymph nodes, and she has severe cancerous lesions in her liver.

Since we just received this information we are all processing the shock and anticipatory grief. Even though she will never be cancer free, with the right treatments and financial support our desired outcome of many more years of life can be achieved.

Briana wants to stick around for as long as possible to love on her babies and her amazing husband. Briana has been happily married to Rory for almost 13 years and has two beautiful children who she loves, adores, and lives for. Rory Dean and Grace Marie who are currently 5 and 9.

Throughout every obstacle that has been thrown her way, Briana has remained indescribably strong, level headed, and has had grace and gratitude the entire time. She's never played the victim with the cards she's been dealt.

As she moves forward on this path of hers, we know the personalized treatments that she needs are going to be extremely expensive and they are not covered by insurance. There is a cancer center out of Scottsdale Arizona specializing in her form of cancer with amazing results to aid in her healing. They will provide precision genetically targeted fractionated chemo therapy, gene therapy, and interventional radiology to address her metastatic disease. They can provide Briana with a team including doctors, pharmacists, and holistic providers to help her immune system and treat her whole self while undergoing cutting edge chemo therapy. The estimated cost of this is $140,000.

Words cannot express how much we love our sister and her family. The last thing she needs while living in this extremely stressful nightmare of chronic pain along with trying to be a wife and mother is the burden of the new and old medical expenses. We truthfully did not see us at this point, and I'm not really sure how we move forward, but I do know that we can't do it alone and we need help.

Angels have stepped up for her before and I know we can gather angels around her again. Briana is strong, stubborn, and she will do whatever it takes to keep being there for the ones she loves.

I speak for my entire family when I say thank you all in advance for your support and love. We need it.
