Support Briana and Her Mom's Recovery Journey

Hi, my name is Briana and I truly appreciate anyone who takes the time to read our story. On October 12th, 2024, a drunk driver speeding and with no insurance was fleeing from Tucson Police Department, ran a red light, and t-boned my mom and me. (Within the chase, TPD failed to stop him on two occasions, which resulted in us getting hit.)

Since this accident, our lives have changed forever. From losing our home and our income due to not being able to work because of our injuries, from having to watch my mom go from being healthy to in pain and barely alive, from panicking and thinking every car is going to hit us while we're on the road, especially at green lights, to our lives just being surgeries, doctor's appointments, and barely any regular living at all.

My mom suffered 6 broken ribs, lungs perforated (pneumothorax), 2 chest tubes, a broken arm with a degloving injury, her finger amputated, a brain bleed, and an aneurysm. She has had over 10 surgeries on her hand and as of today, June 26th, my mom is having surgery for her broken neck.I (Briana) will be having back surgery for a second time in August due to my injuries. If everyone would keep my mom in your prayers, I'd be forever grateful.

We're just trying our hardest to get back on our feet and catch a break when we did nothing wrong but everything got taken away from us. Hola, me llamo Briana y agradezco mucho a cualquiera que se tome el tiempo de leer nuestra historia. El 12 de octubre de 2024, un conductor ebrio que conducía a exceso de velocidad y sin seguro huía del Departamento de Policía de Tucson, se pasó un semáforo en rojo y nos chocó de costado a mi madre y a mí. (Durante la persecución, el Departamento de Policía de Tucson no logró detenerlo en dos ocasiones, lo que resultó en que nos atropellaran).

Desde este accidente, nuestras vidas cambiaron para siempre. Perdimos nuestra casa y nuestros ingresos por no poder trabajar debido a nuestras lesiones; vimos a mi madre pasar de estar sana a sufrir y a estar apenas con vida; entramos en pánico pensando que todos los coches nos iban a atropellar en la carretera, sobre todo en los semáforos en verde; y ahora, nuestras vidas se reducen a cirugías, citas médicas y una vida prácticamente no normal. Mi madre sufrió mas de seis costillas rotas, una perforación en los dos pulmones (neumotórax), dos tubos torácicos, un brazo roto con desprendimiento de tejido, le amputaron un dedo, una hemorragia cerebral y un aneurisma. Ha tenido más de diez cirugías en la mano y, a partir de hoy, 26 de junio, la operarán de su fractura de cuello.

Yo (Briana) me operaran de la espalda por segunda vez en agosto debido a mis lesiones. Si todos tuvieran a mi madre presente en sus oraciones, les estaría eternamente agradecido. Por favor, consideren donar cualquier cosa; nos ayudaría a aliviar esta carga. Estamos haciendo todo lo posible por recuperarnos y tener un respiro, ya que no hicimos nada malo, pero nos lo arrebataron todo.
