In March of 2024, my world changed. My transplanted kidney—one that had given me years of health and hope—went into rejection. Since then, every day has been a balancing act between faith, endurance, and the search for another chance at life.

Through this journey, many incredible people have stepped forward to be tested as potential donors. Each act of willingness has been a miracle in itself. Yet none have come closer to changing my story than Brian Santos.

Brian is one of the most genuine, honest, and humble souls I’ve ever known. Without hesitation, he chose to give one of his kidneys—not directly to me, but as part of a paired donation program through Intermountain Healthcare.

What this means is nothing short of extraordinary. On November 18th, Brian will undergo surgery to donate one of his kidneys to a stranger across the country in Florida—someone he’s never met, yet whose life will be saved because of him. And on that very same day, I’ll receive the kidney that’s been perfectly matched for me.

Brian’s gift is the definition of selflessness. It’s love in its purest form—quiet, courageous, and without expectation of recognition. While he would never ask for support himself, I feel deeply called to do so on his behalf.

Brian recently started his own general contracting company, Black Lion Builders, and has been pouring his heart and skill into helping others build their dreams. But for the next 6–8 weeks, he’ll need to pause all work to focus fully on recovery. This means he’ll miss out on several projects and income opportunities during that critical time.

I’ve created this fundraiser to help ensure that Brian can rest and recover without financial worry—to give him the peace of mind he deserves after giving such a life-changing gift.
