Support Brian Moss’s family after his tragic passing

Brian L. Moss, our beloved father and longtime spouse to my mother, Deborah Lewis-Moss, passed away unexpectedly and shockingly, sometime Monday, 02/24/25, barely a week after his 67th birthday. We had no warning, and we weren’t able to say goodbye.
We are reaching out for help in our time of need, to deal with the unexpected financial burden, including cremation services, time off work, travel expenses from Florida to Virginia, to cover any of his outstanding bills and taxes, and an upcoming celebration of life memorial service to be held in Central Florida, at a date TBD.
We know everyone is experiencing financial hardships nowadays, so any amount, no matter how small, helps. And in lieu of money, just sharing this fundraiser would be a tremendous help. It is also the best way to inform every one of his passing, though his family and friends are trying their best.
He left behind his two children, Samantha and Brian JR, his former wife, Deborah, with whom he still talked with and had long conversations.
So too did he leave several extended family members and relatives, many, many close friends who loved and valued him, and his cherished dogs and horses.
Brian was born in Flint, MI, but lived in Saginaw, MI throughout his school years. He pursued his longtime interest in automotives, attending Michigan State and Delta State Universities, and eventually became a ASE Master mechanic.
He moved to central Florida, and eventually Kissimmee, FL in the early 1980’s, where he made lifelong friendships, got married, and had two children who loved him.
Brian was an avid Hot Rod and NASCAR fan, his favorite driver being Dale Earnhardt. He has a passion for restoring antique cars, and competed in car shows all over Florida with his 65’ Chevy Nova.
Brian worked for many years at Starling, and later Coggin Chevrolet, and briefly at Starling Chrysler, before the land was bought by the county. He later worked at an automobile auction in Sanford, but soon returned to his passion of hot rods, working at Grumpie’s Hot Rod Shop for several years.
He moved to Burke’s Garden, in Tazewell, VA to pursue his dream of a simpler, peaceful life, where he could build his dream home on a beautiful stretch of land facing the mountains, and raise and train his animal companions. He started Elliots Acres Equine and Canine rescue facility, where he could never turn away an animal in need. He work tirelessly to care for and train the animals he took in, all while maintaining and rekindling friendships, and rediscovering himself along the way.
Brian Moss, my father, was an incredibly hard working, talented, spirited, passionate, outspoken guy, and he was never afraid to push the limits, whether they be vehicle speeds or political opinions. He always loved his family and friends, even through the hard patches in his life, and had a very soft heart towards animals in need.
He is and will always be deeply missed, and we will do our best to honor his memory, and hopefully build his dream homestead.
If you’ve read this far, thank you so very much for your time, and clearly you loved my dad Brian. I know he is watching over us. ❤️
