Brian (19) and Diego (21) Hernandez are two hardworking brothers whose lives were changed in an instant. Every day is still filled with pain, limitations, and the slow, difficult process of healing. Diego also spent over a week in the ICU and has already had lower back surgery. During his recovery, doctors discovered an unexpected injury that is requiring another surgery. He now faces months of physical therapy and rehabilitation. His road ahead is long and exhausting. What makes this even more heartbreaking is that both Brian and Diego had just started new jobs and were not yet eligible for medical insurance. Now, instead of focusing only on healing, they are facing overwhelming medical bills and the reality that they cannot work while their bodies recover. The emotional and financial weight of this has been devastating. Despite everything, they continue to fight. They show strength even on the days when the pain is heavy and the fear is visible in their eyes. But as parents, watching our children suffer like this is a pain beyond words.
