Hello everyone,
As many of you know, Firefighter/Paramedic Brian Cook underwent an unexpected quadruple bypass surgery on December 26th at Northridge Medical Center. The surgery was successful and Brian was able to go home after a few days in the ICU. This, however, was only the beginning of a very long recovery. Thanks to so many of you, Brian and his family have had a tremendous amount of emotional support. Many visitors and well wishes have come their way. But now it's time to support them in a different way....financially!!
In this time of recovery the last thing that Brian and Kari(his wife) should have to worry about are their finances. This fundraiser is to help Brian and his family with unexpected medical costs that are not covered, items that can be purchased for his comfort in his home, projects around the house to help support the family, money to help their three children with sports and other activities that they are involved with (this includes money needed for travel expenses to network and find colleges for his two girls), and any other bills or financial obligations they need help with. Let's make it so that money isn't a limiting factor in his recovery and that the family feels the support they need to help Brian in this time.
Brian has had so much positive influence on so many of us! Whether you are family, a coworker or a friend you know how infectious Brian's exuberant and cheerful personality can be. Personally, we are going to miss him at the fire station during this time. We hope that he makes a swift recovery and gets back to doing all the things he loves most! If you know Brian in any way (or even if you don't!) and have a desire to support and help him and his family during this recovery, please consider a sizable donation.
Thank you all for your thoughts and support!
Matt Bergeson (member with Brian at Fire station #70)
