Support Brian Braun's Road to Recovery

Hi! I am Jules Braun, daughter of Brian Braun.

In December 2023, while driving for Lyft, my dad was hit from behind in a highway collision involving several cars - he took the direct impact of the hit from the traveling car.

Since then, he’s been healing from a major back injury and has been mitigating the situation as best as he can.

More recently, the injury flared up, sending him to the hospital for a 5-day stint. He was ultimately sent home on a prescription regimen for pain; however, follow up support and resources lacked.

He remained bed and floor-ridden for the five days that followed hospital discharge, crawling on his hands and knees to move about as he could. Our family was able to provide care that we could, but it was not the care that he required or deserved.

On July 4, 2025, he fell while attempting to get himself to another room. I found him on the floor, wailing in absolute and utter pain. It was heartbreaking.

I called for an ambulance, and they transported him back to the hospital where he stayed for another 3 days. Eventually, he was discharged with the recommendation and referral to stay in a Post Acute & Rehabilitation facility.

Presently, he is staying in said facility, meeting daily with nurses, doctors, physical therapists, all to help assess the damage, provide intervention, and facilitate recovery. He will be there for an undetermined amount of time.

My father, retired and living off minimal Social Security benefits, side hustles driving for Lyft. The injury, as well as subsequent rehabilitation and recovery, has rendered him unable to work for the foreseeable future.

In an effort to support him financially, I have created this GFM to offset the burden that he’s experiencing due to his injury and lack of ability to work.
