Support Bri: A Single Mom's Educational Journey
Donation protected
Hello, my name is Lacey and I am raising funds for my dear friend, Bri.
Bri is a second-year midwifery student who has recently become a single mom to her 3 young children. She is fronting all the bills at home by herself, plus the cost of schooling. The bills have brought her to a place where she is considering quitting school to get a full-time job, when she graduates within the next 10-18 months and would have a career that would secure her family's future if she did not. She currently owns a business and works a second and sometimes a third job on top of school, clinic, and births. As her friend, I cannot fathom her quitting at this point when we are so near the finish line. I would greatly appreciate the community's help and getting her through at least this semester to the summer where she can figure out the rest of the year.
But first, let me tell you a little about her.
Bri is someone who literally embodies "work in action", "Hands and feet of Jesus", and true acts of service love. Despite everything she is going through she is the first one to show up for others, ready to serve with her actions, words of affirmation, and thoughtful help in time of need. Just the other night I accidentally sent her a text that was meant for my daughter, asking to help me fold some laundry. Her reply was that she would be right over! It was 10 pm! Thankfully I realized I had sent it to the wrong person and stopped her before she showed up at my door at 10pm to fold my laundry! She is the first to offer help in the community when anyone needs it, coordinating efforts, especially for new moms, pregnant people, and those in need of anything she has access to, including making runs to pick up donated items and drop them off at local pregnancy resource centers. She has donated breastmilk, watched children, and spent endless hours pouring into others. She has served our community as a passionate doula for 5 years and helped numerous families get the birth they desired and the postpartum care they needed. She is a pillar of wisdom, resources, and a general self-sacrifical love that has long been missing in today's world.
Bri has a gift of love in action and it is my hope that we can return what she has given to our community to her in her time of need. If you find it in your heart to help her, please donate and/or share this fund so she can reach her goals. Our community needs her skills and passion as a midwife someday, and we can help her through this! Thank you in advance for supporting my dear, sweet friend. Blessings to you all.
