Help a 30-Year Dog Trainer Achieve His Dream of Becoming a Veterinarian
Why Do I Need Your Help?
Hi everyone,
I never thought I’d be writing this, but here I am—at nearly 51 years old—on the verge of making a lifelong dream come true. After 30 years as a professional dog trainer, I have finally been accepted into veterinary school at Saint Matthew’s University, This is an incredible opportunity to take my knowledge and experience to the next level so I can help even more animals, but I’m facing a major challenge: funding.
Because Saint Matthew’s is a foreign university, my student loan options are extremely limited. Despite my willingness to work as much as possible and continue offering my dog training programs online, the financial gap is significant. To help cover these costs, I’m making some tough personal sacrifices—I am selling my house and working overtime to accumulate as much as possible before I start. However, the long-term reality of having to maintain an intense work schedule alongside my studies would inevitably affect my ability to fully focus on my education. Your support now will ensure that I can dedicate myself entirely to becoming the best veterinarian I can be.
Why This School?
I have researched every possible alternative, and attending a different school simply is not an option. Saint Matthew’s offers an accelerated program, meaning I can graduate sooner and still have a long career ahead of me as a veterinarian. At my age, this is my best chance of making the most of my future in this profession.
Additionally, living and studying in the Cayman Islands comes with high costs. Tuition, housing, transportation, and daily living expenses in one of the most expensive regions in the world add up quickly, making financial support absolutely essential.
What Your Support Will Help Me With
Every dollar raised will go directly toward these unavoidable expenses:
-Tuition: Approximately $25,000 per semester for the 10 semester accelerated program I was accepted into at St. Matthews University.
- Housing: Around $1,750–$3000 per month (for dog friendly rental. Even with roommates!), depending on availability
- Cost of living: Including food, utilities, dog food and care plus unexpected expenses
-Transportation: A vehicle is essential for commuting, as public transit options are limited
My Vision as a Veterinarian
For decades, I have worked with thousands of dogs, helping them and their owners achieve balance and harmony. Now, I want to take that passion further by integrating medical care with behavioral expertise. My goal is to:
-Help rescue dogs by offering both medical and behavioral rehabilitation, increasing their chances of successful adoption.
-Provide traditional and holistic care to pets who are in need, ensuring financial hardship doesn’t prevent animals from receiving proper treatment.
-Continue my work in behavioral counseling, combining my deep understanding of canine psychology with veterinary medicine to address complex issues.
-Advocate for responsible training and care, ensuring that medical and behavioral interventions work together for the well-being of dogs and their families.
How You Can Help
I know times are tough, and asking for help isn’t easy. But if you believe in second chances, in chasing dreams at any age, and in supporting someone who has dedicated their life to animals, I would be beyond grateful for any contribution you can make. Every dollar brings me closer to making this dream a reality, and even if you can’t donate, sharing this campaign means the world to me.
Thank you for your support, encouragement, and belief in me. Let’s make this happen together!
With gratitude,
