My name is Michael Payner and recently, my best friends, the Rambergers, received some of the worst news a parent could ever receive. They were told their seventeen-year-old daughter, Bre, has Synovial Sarcoma, which is a rare (only 1-2 cases per 1,000,000) and aggressive cancer. The battle that Bre has ahead of her is a tough one, to say the least. As one knows, the financial impact of a family dealing with something like this is significant. Bre will have months of treatment between Cincinnati Children’s, Dayton Children’s, and Nationwide Children’s in Columbus, and her mother has had to take a leave of absence from her job to navigate all this and to take Bre to her appointments. In addition, her father has and will continue to have to miss days of work. These things, plus the cost of travel, meals, etc., for all of the appointments and hospital stays, not to mention the medical costs above and beyond what insurance will pay, along with all of the additional things to make this as easy on Bre as possible, is too much for a family to do alone. My goal is to help them ease some of that burden with this fundraiser and give this family one less battle to fight.
