Hello everyone
I've never done this before, and truthfully it feels awkward, but I've run out of choices.
For those of you that know me (and for those of you that don't), I've been working as a Behavioral Health Specialist and Paraprofessional in charter and public schools here in Phoenix/Scottsdale for the last 7 years. I have specifically been working/teaching students with autism and other disabilities. In addition, I have also been working with students that are struggling with a variety of behavioral disorders and finding it hard to overcome obstacles in learning daily living skills to prepare them for adulthood.
Here's my dilemma.
The 2024-2025 school year has ended, and most teachers get paid during the month and a half summer break. However, I am not a state-certified teacher, so this doesn't apply to me. However, I will be state certified by the end of this July.
After the school year ended, I started working at a behavior health company dealing with teens who have behavior issues, some being aggressive. Normally this would not be an issue as I am trained to help, but with my current health issues enlarged prostate / Cancer (which some of you are aware of) I cannot take a chance in getting physically hurt so I had to resign from my position.
Just recently, I was made a job offer to teach in a charter school for children with autism starting July 23rd, 2025. Because of this, I am a little short on July's bills/rent. I've already got June bills taken care of, but I need help with July's rent as I have not been able to find any summer job or part time position to fill the gap until July 23rd. By taking on this new position, it will put me in a much better place for myself and the children I will be teaching.
So, I can't really think of anything else to say other than any help you could give me I would owe all of you a huge debt of gratitude and, where it's appropriate, hugs. : )
Thank you for taking the time to read this and feel free to reach out to me if you have any questions.
Best,
