Support Brent's Journey to Recovery

My name is Hillary and I am raising funds for our close friends. Their son was in an accident with a 4-wheeler. Unfortunately, he has a broken hip and crushed femur with other issues which may result in him losing his leg. He is currently in surgery to see if doctors can save his leg. Brent now faces an incredibly long recovery. Brent is such a sweet 9 year old boy full of life and compassion and this will only be a hurdle for this little dude. Any funds raised will go towards medical expenses.

Will update on his status as I receive them!

Update 5/5 AM - Brent made it through his long surgery last night and doctors are optimistic that he will be able to keep his leg but will still have to wait 72 hours to ensure proper blood flow to the leg. He's a little rockstar and will face many more surgeries and a very long recovery, regardless of the outcome of the blood flow to the leg.

5/6 AM update: Brent is going back for surgery again to make sure everything is going well and keep the area cleaned. We've been told he will be able to keep his left leg. Keep the prayers coming!

5/6 PM updates - Brent's leg isn't healing the way we'd all hoped. The muscles and skin are not healing like planned and as of now he will have to go through skin grafts and a muscle transfer. He will be going back into surgery on Wednesday. We're all hopeful and terrified. Please continue to support this journey.

Day 5 (5/8) update on Brent

Surgery #3. Upper leg is set with pins and a rod for the next year. Lower leg is cleaned and rewrapped with new hardware put in then Friday is Surgery #4. Hopefully just cleaning and Wednesday Surgery #5 with a foot brace and skin flap, muscle reconstruction possibly.

Day 6 (5/9) update on Brent! He's doing wonderfully and in good spirits! Surgery #4 scheduled for tomorrow to clean and and put foot plate on. Brent did great with physical therapy today played with a slinky and sat up with legs hanging over edge of bed!
