Brent is my best friend and has always treated me like family. He’s the kind of person who would do anything for those he cares about, and I’ve been lucky to have him by my side through so much in life. Now, Brent needs our help more than ever.

Recently, Brent was admitted to the ICU after the two lower chambers of his heart stopped working. This led to his kidneys failing, and he’s now on dialysis. Brent is 67 years old, and despite encouragement from me and many of his friends to see a doctor, his health took a sudden turn for the worse. I noticed the first signs back in July when his ankles were swollen, a symptom I recognized from my own grandmother’s experience with congestive heart failure. It’s been heartbreaking to watch someone so strong and caring face such a difficult battle.

The funds raised will go directly toward Brent’s pacemaker surgery, the aftercare in a hospice recovery, he’ll need to recover, and the bills I’ve been covering for him while he’s in the hospital. I need all the support of the community right now. Brent has shown me what true, unconditional love means, and I can’t imagine life without him.
