Support Brenda’s Recovery After Emergency Brain Surgery

Brenda Walkoski is a loving mother, devoted friend, and someone who has always gone above and beyond to help others. Whether supporting her friends, family, or the broader community, Brenda’s heart has always been full of generosity and kindness. Now, Brenda needs our help.

Brenda’s life was forever changed on Friday, November 29, 2024, when she received the devastating news that she needed emergency brain surgery to stop an unexpected and life-threatening brain bleed. Surgeons drilled four burr holes into her skull to drain the blood, inserted a drainage tube, and closed the incisions with multiple staples. Thankfully, Brenda made it through the surgery.

However, just days later, Brenda received more heartbreaking news: she had developed a severe brain infection. This infection required the insertion of a PICC line, through which she is receiving multiple antibiotics. Brenda will remain in the hospital for at least four weeks under close medical supervision, meaning she will spend Christmas in the hospital instead of at home with her 7-year-old son, Callum, and their family.

When Brenda is discharged, she will require full-time care and will be unable to return to work for an extended period of time. This has created—and will continue to create—significant financial challenges for Brenda and her son as she focuses on healing.

Brenda has always been someone who gives selflessly to others without asking for anything in return. Now, her family, friends, and community are coming together to support her in her time of need.
