Support Brenda's Healing and Rehab Needs

Story

Hello, my name is Iris Hensley, and my sisters and I are trying to raise money to help with those extra medical fees and expenses. On April 30th, our stepmom/mom, Brenda Johnston, had back surgery. A 4-hour surgery turned into a 7-hour surgery. She had 6 vertebrae fused and now has plates, rods, and a cage in her back. After surgery, she has lost control of her left leg. Her blood pressure has been low, and she has low hemoglobin, which they gave her a pint of blood for. On May 7th, they moved her to NHC for rehab therapy. On May 8th, they sent her back to the ER for bleeding at the surgery site, along with her pain and low hemoglobin again. She was admitted back into the hospital. They gave her 2 more pints of blood, and on May 9th, they found she has an infection in her bloodstream and started IV antibiotics. She is in a lot of pain and hurts everywhere. Brenda does have insurance, but as we all know, that also comes with large co-pays and some expenses they don't cover. This is going to be a long haul to recover.
