One year ago, my brother Brendan was diagnosed with testicular cancer and had to undergo a right orchiectomy. After his surgery, he was unable to work for months while he recovered. Just as he was getting back on his feet, we recently learned that the cancer had spread to his right hip and down to the bone. Our family has been gathering together, trying to figure out how best to support him through this new challenge.
On 4/15, while letting his dog outside, Brendan’s crutch was accidentally knocked by his dog, causing his hip to lock up and break under the pressure. He was rushed to Tristate and then life flighted to Spokane for further treatment. We immediately traveled to Spokane to be by his side, and that’s where we are right now. Brendan has a long road ahead, and there is still so much we don’t know about what comes next.
The funds raised will help Brendan cover medical bills, rent, and electricity while he is unable to work for several months. This support will ease the financial burden and allow him to focus on his recovery. This is hard for us to ask, but we could use as much help as we are offered. Any support means the world to our family during this difficult time.
