Brendan is 28 years old and is from Aurora, ON. Brendan works for a drilling company that performs environmental and geotechnical drilling services in the greater Toronto area.
On the morning of Friday March 7th, 2025, in Chatsworth, Brendan and crew were coming to the end of a 2 week-long job and preparing the equipment for their return trip home. With trucks located on the shoulder of the road, close to their job site and safety protocols in place, Brendan was securing the drill rig to the truck and was suddenly and violently struck by a passing vehicle, causing life-threatening and life-altering injuries.
Brendan was taken to a local hospital and quickly air lifted to Victoria Hospital in London for emergency surgery.
While waiting for the ambulance to arrive, a few good samaritans happened to come upon the scene and were able to provide life saving efforts. Without these selfless and heroic actions, the outcome would be very different. We would like to extend our greatest and deepest gratitude to these guardian angels.
Brendan remains at London’s Victoria Hospital in a medically induced coma, fighting for his life. We would also like to thank all medical professionals who provided and continue to provide dedicated and compassionate care to Brendan.
Brendan is not only a driller and a former volunteer firefighter (Muskoka), he is a kind, thoughtful, loyal and hardworking; son, brother and friend. He has touched the lives of so many and has made such a positive impact on those that are lucky enough to know him.
It is hard to describe in words, how many people love and care for him deeply and are praying for him to survive this senseless and tragic accident and will be here to support him on the long journey he now faces.
We, his friends are reaching out with heavy hearts and are asking for help with his recovery, which will be long, painful, challenging and very uncertain. But we want him to know that even thought this will be unbelievably overwhelming, he is not alone. We are hoping this campaign will provide some relief from the financial burden that lies ahead.
Brendan is kind, considerate and giving, we only wish to help him as he would do the same for us.
Please consider donating if you are able to and share this page but most of all, please say a prayer for him and keep him in your hearts and thoughts. Every gesture of support will have a profound effect and make a significant difference to Brendan, his family and his future.
We want to thank you for your kindness, generosity and contributions to Brendan’s recovery.
We hope that Brendan’s accident will bring awareness and emphasize the importance of driving safely. This is a clear example of how quickly accidents can happen and how very important it is to take extra care and caution when approaching and driving past people working on the side of the road. There are many challenges working in these types of conditions, but the location of the worksite brings many more. Distracted driving, driving without adjusting or being aware of your surroundings or road conditions can have a tragic and ever-lasting impact on someone’s life and those who love them. We hope that this brings awareness to anyone that reads this and what has happened to Brendan can encourage even just one person to slow down, take a little more time, and exercise patience and caution while driving to prevent an accident like this from happening again. We genuinely hope that Brendan’s situation can shine a light on how we can all do a little more to make sure that everyone gets home safely.
Brendan’s Update:
Friday April 11th, 2025: We would like to share an update on Brendan’s condition, he is out of the medically induced coma and has been transferred to a Toronto hospital for specialized care, updates will continue to be posted as his condition changes. Many people have reached out to inquired about visiting Brendan and thank you very much for wanting to be here for him but for his health and current condition, visitation should be kept to a minimum at this time. The support shown is overwhelming and heart warming and we would like to say thank you from the bottom of our hearts, we are so grateful for everyone’s contributions, it means so much to Brendan and his future. A thank you does not even begin to describe how everyone’s kindness has had such deep impact. We have been keeping Brendan in our thoughts and will continue to pray for his health and wellness.
