Support Brenda with Nova's Vet Bills

We are friends of Brenda Rhode and we’re trying to help her by raising funds to help her pay for veterinary medical bills for her newest puppy addition, Nova.

Little Nova was spayed when she was approximately 6 months old and 6 lbs. A few days after her spay, Nova developed a cough, trouble breathing, and became very lethargic. Brenda rushed her to the vet and they gave her some antibiotics, but could not determine what was wrong. Brenda brought her home and gave her the antibiotics and at first, it seemed maybe she was getting better.

Unfortunately, Nova became even more sick this time, vomiting blood and mucus, and still having trouble breathing. Brenda had to give Nova water through a syringe in order for her to get fluid into her little body. Brenda also had to try to clear Luna’s by gently pounding on her chest to try to loosen the mucus so she could try to cough it out. Brenda brought Nova back to the vet. The vet didn’t feel that there was anything wrong with Nova, but in order to appease Brenda, they gave her a different antibiotic.

Poor Nova continued to decline, having trouble breathing and vomiting, still not eating. Brenda decided to bring her to a different veterinary clinic. This vet began running tests, brainstorming as a team, trying new medication and putting Nova in an oxygen tent at the cost of $110 a day, this on top of the 4 or 5 other emergency vet visits, medications, spay cost have left Brenda with a hefty vet bill to pay.

Nova and Brenda’s other dogs are all rescues. She recently had to put her beloved Willow down after having her for over 8 years. She was Brenda’s motorcycle riding buddy and now that Nova seems to be on the road to recovery Brenda is hoping to get Nova on the back of her bike once she is fully recovered.

As Brenda’s friends, we know she would never ask for help financially, but we’d like to try to help her in any way we can.
